Some of the kids of Ferndale showed off their pets … or their friend’s pets … in the Kid’s Pet Parade on June 6th. It was smaller this year than last, but it held as much charm, as many “Oh, how cute!”s, smiles, chuckles and all out laughter! Even on a somewhat dark and damp morning, they gathered … kids, parents, friends, town visitors, and other interested viewers. First and foremost, however, were the pets. Dogs, cats, two chickens and a duck, fish and a couple of horses. There were no goats, chicks, odd or unusual lizard-like creatures or slugs in a jar. Maybe next year some of those will return. This year it was short and very, very sweet. And … kids will be kids … there were also some very funny moments!
