Local children showed off their pets as they paraded down Main Street on Saturday, June 6th, 2009. In 2010, it happens on June 5th.

They were all so proud of themselves and their pets, although a few of them got the jitters when they saw all the folks lined up to watch them. There was more than one Mom or Dad or big brother or sister out there with the little ones … and there were some pretty little ones … kids AND pets! I mean, the parade started with “The Mighty Sampson,” an ankle nibbler if ever there was one.

I wish I knew all the names and the breeds of pets. It would be great to put a name to the young fellow above who loves his goldfish enough to carry it all the way through the parade. I bet his arms were pretty tired by the time he finished his walk. Read More »
